Benedict Cumberbatch has been nominated for a Broadcasting Press Guild Award for best actor for his roles as Christopher Tietjens in Parade’s End and Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock. Benedict previously won this award in 2011 for his roles in Sherlock and Vincent:Painted with Words.
Parade’s End leads the nominees with five nominations for best TV Drama, best actor nominations for both Benedict Cumberbatch and Roger Allam (for both Parade’s End and The Thick of It), best actress for Rebecca Hall for her portrayal of Sylvia Tietjens and best writer for Sir Tom Stoppard who adapted the series from Ford Madox Ford’s novel.
Sherlock is also nominated for best drama and best writer for Steven Moffat.
The awards will be announced next month.
