Benedict Cumberbatch nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Sherlock

Congratulations to Benedict Cumberbatch who has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for best actor in a mini series or movie for his role as Sherlock Holmes in the second series of Sherlock.

So far this year Benedict has been nominated for a BAFTA, Emmy and now a Golden Globe Award for his portrayal of Sherlock.

The Golden Globes are handed out on 13 January 2013.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey goes on worldwide release today and you can see our report of the London premiere and review of the film here. Benedict Cumberbatch is playing the Necromancer and Smaug the Dragon in the trilogy of films.

Finally Benedict will be returning to the radio next week with another instalment of the excellent Rumpole series – Rumpole and the Gentle Art of Blackmail. The new episode airs next Tuesday 18th December at 2:15 pm on BBC Radio 4 and concludes with Rumpole and the Expert Witness on Christmas Day.
